Bodybuilding for Beginners – What You Need to Know!
Do you want to change your body? Do you want to get to the point where people look at you and smile? Do you want people to ask how you got so big?
The best compliment of all is when they ask if you have been juicing. This pertains to taking steroids. Taking steroids is a very bad idea, so don’t even consider it.
It just feels great when someone thinks you must have been juicing in order to get to your current size. Amazingly, and contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to take steroids to get bigger.
Let’s take a look at the basics so you can get started in the right direction. We’ll keep it simple so you don’t get intimidated or frustrated.
The first thing you need to understand about successful bodybuilding is that diet is just as important as your workouts. If you don’t have the right diet, then you will never succeed.
There is one negative when it comes to diet, which is that it can get expensive. If you want to get bigger, then that’s a price you’re going to have to pay.
The key with diet is protein. You want to have protein throughout the day without overdoing it. In the morning, be sure to eat right away. When you’re sleeping, your body is in a catabolic state.
You want to get your body into an anabolic state as quickly as possible. A protein-filled breakfast will do the trick. Try to avoid coffee if possible because it will drain your energy later in the day.
Try to eat five to seven small meals throughout the day, opposed to three large meals. This will keep your body in the best shape possible.
That said it’s imperative that you fill your body with protein within 15 to 30 minutes after your workout.
This will assist your muscles in recovery. If you don’t eat after your workout, then you will have potentially wasted that workout, or at least watered down its effectiveness.
If you have trouble putting weight on, then you’re a hard-gainer. This means you burn muscle with ease during your cardio workouts, and that it’s extremely difficult to pack on muscle.
It’s all in your metabolism. The solution here is to purchase protein shakes. You should drink a shake after your workout, followed by a meal one hour later.
The best protein shake out there for fast results is Cytogainer. That’s because Cytogainer also has three grams of creatine. Despite what the directions say, keep it to one serving per day.
You never want to go over three grams of creatine per day. Don’t listen to the other guys in the gym who take 10 grams of creatine per day. That might catch up to them down the road.
As far as lifting goes, that’s the easy part. Just make sure you stick to free weights.
If you make a promise to yourself that you will never touch a machine and that you will only work with free weights, then you will see quality results within six weeks.
Stick to 12 sets per day, divided amongst four exercises. Increase the weight for each set.
Workout three to four times per week, as this will allow your muscles the time to rest. This is when your muscles build.
